My neighbor was secretly charging her electric car from my house every night — instead of calling the police, I did something better to teach her a lesson. I'm a 60-year-old widow who lives alone in a small suburban house, so my electricity bill is usually pretty predictable. That's why my jaw nearly dropped when my bill was suddenly TWICE as high last month. I couldn't understand why. I hadn't bought any new appliances, and everything was working exactly the same as before. But one night, I couldn't sleep at all, and even my pills weren't helping. Then I heard a strange noise outside my window. I looked out and nearly fainted. My neighbor, Monica, was charging her Tesla directly from MY HOUSE. She had parked her car as close to my driveway as possible, and the charging cable ran from her car straight to the outdoor outlet on the side of my garage. I immediately ran outside and asked: "Monica, what are you doing?" She just shrugged and said: "Charging my car. What's the big deal?" I could barely stop myself from yelling. "But you're charging your car FROM MY HOUSE!" She sighed as if I were the unreasonable one. "Oh, come on. You live alone. How much electricity could you possibly need? Don't be so stingy! I have three kids, and I always have errands to run. And you? You're retired. You just sit at home." I couldn't believe it. Monica had three kids, a newer house, a beautifully landscaped yard, and a brand-new Tesla. She WASN'T poor. She was just incredibly cheap. Once, she went into my garage and took my lawn mower. Another time, she simply stole a garden gnome because it "looked better in her yard." They were small things, but they told me exactly what kind of person she was. Still, I tried to keep the peace. When I told her she was using MY electricity and that my electric bill had doubled, she just burst out laughing and said: "It's probably only a few dollars. God, you're greedy!" That was it. Monica clearly wasn't going to respond to politeness. So I smiled and went back inside. The next day, I did SOMETHING near my garage. When she came back that evening to charge her car again, she screamed so loudly that the entire neighborhood came running outside to see WHAT WAS GOING ON.. Type KEYS and I'll continue.
